What is the best ';Palace Resorts'; hotel in Cancun?

My fiance and I will have access to one week there for our honeymoon -- and we're looking for the best resort within this Palace Resorts. We've seen the websites, but would like some user opinions. Thanks!!What is the best ';Palace Resorts'; hotel in Cancun?
MOON PALACE!

it's so big there are 2 parts to it, it's all nice, but if you pick this place, try to stay in the part with the bigger pool!! i think it's called sunrise!

the place truly is a palace! we really want to go back! the pool is amazing, it has swim up bars, it's all inclusive, so you can just eat and drink alll day long, the restaurants there are great, there are a lot to choose from! and you can visit other palace resorts as well, no matter which one you stay at! moon palace seems to be more private though, it's kinda set off by itself on it's own, they have their own beach, so if you like a resort that's secluded, you'll love it!!

you won't be disappointed!!

it's very close to the airport too! which is nice!

good luck! What is the best ';Palace Resorts'; hotel in Cancun?
the riu hotel is good, but if you want to be a week for honeymoon the best place is hotel secreto, is really luxury, nice and isla mujeres is great.

but there are another incredible hotel called ventanas al paraiso, but this one is in los cabos

and is nice

The beach lol
I prefer the ';Presidente Intercontinental'; hotel. It has the best beach in Cancun and is very very nice. There are several attractions nearby also. It is one of the best hotels in Cancun. The Mayan Palace is not so bad either but the beach is not very good. (not as good as in the Presidente Intercontinental)
My wife and I just got back from cancun the RIU PALACE

AMERICANAS fantastic palace close to all the hot spots for

night life or stay at the resort always something going on

best chef's in town. 6 resturants, 2 pools , 5 bars great

service, ocean view suites with balacony. Built in 2002 many

people say it's the best in cancun. and plus you can go to the

Riu Cancun next door and eat or drink in any of there bars or

resturants. If you stay at the Riu Palace Americanas you can.

But if you stay at the Riu Cancun nextdoor you can't go to the

Riu Palace and eat or drink. Alway had room on the beach and

they have wedding out on the beach all the time.

Fun in the Sun.
i went to the aventura spa palace in dec....meh no beach, not a lot to do not a great first experience. food was great thou
I prefer the MAYA PALACE, it is about 20 - 30 minutes outside Cancun in Rivera Mayan. It is close to many other attractions but yet secluded enough for a honeymoon. The resort has so much to do in itself that I do not thing you need to go do other things but in case you get boredI recommend the following....

Be sure to go see:

  • Can one visit any walt disney wolrd resort hotel even if one isn't staying there?

are these resorts easily accessible within the parks? Can one visit any walt disney wolrd resort hotel even if one isn't staying there?
Yes, you certainly may visit any of the Walt Disney World Resorts. If you're staying on property you may use any of the complimentary transportation services to get to the Resorts, or drive there yourself if you have your own car with you. When you reach the gate to a Resort just let them know which Resort you're staying at. They may ask for your Resort I.D. If you're not staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts the security guard at the gate will give you a pass that allows you to visit the Resort for a few hours.

Hope I could help! Can one visit any walt disney wolrd resort hotel even if one isn't staying there?
Absolutely. In fact, the Disney Company would like you to visit their resorts. Each resort is gated with a security guard. Simply let the security guard know that you would like to visit the resort, and you will be allowed to park. If you take a bus or monorail, there isn't any security guard to contend with. Each resort has shopping and restaurants as well as its very own (and unique) style. So feel free to explore as many or all of the resorts hotels as you'd like. They are quite different and may just make you want to stay in one on your next visit.
yup -- hotel hopping is fun. animal kingdom lodge has special animal programs you can't gain access to unless you stay there but there is still much to see and do. my favorites are animal kingdom and the wildnerness lodge. you can drive up and park at most of them. the better ones all have better restaurants so its easy to just fake dinner reservations -- or actually eat there.
Yes, by bus or monarail but if you drive in you must know someone who is staying at the resort and their room number.
Take the monorail or bus. And yes you don't have to be a guest.
you can go to the hotels at disney most of them have a character break fast early in the mornig so you can visit with the characters i took my young children there and they had a great time one on one with some of the characters asooble ieses fr the breakast and you can park for free tale the monorail to the park and get in an hour earlier than general enyto the park.

    Budget Resort/hotel in Mactan, Cebu?

I am looking for a not so expensive yet nice place to stay in Mactan, Cebu for a family of 5.Overnight only. pls give me the link so i can check the rates and services.thanksBudget Resort/hotel in Mactan, Cebu?
Cebu Whitesands if fairly cheap. Off the top of my head i think i paid around 3000p when i stayed there last year. But remember with a resort the prices add up fast if you eat there. also dont get them to phone for a taxi unless you want to pay double the fare.Budget Resort/hotel in Mactan, Cebu?
The wife has family on Mactan Island so I have stayed there often when we holiday in the Phils. No such thing as a 'Budget' Resort I'm afraid. Any establishment there with 'Resort' in it's name is at the top end of the market. I will tell you this however.Save yourself the grief and DO NOT go to Alta Vista if you value your money at any price.

I found these so called 'resorts' on Mactan over priced, extremely poor on service is the main point, and totally over rated.Nothing works in these places, no hot water, empty swimming pool, no maid service--just ask for a towel and see what you get--a funny look and no response. All the 'extras' that are included in the brochure or on your internet booking---uh-uh---dont exist , just a 'tout' to get you in. Free airport pick up that never arrives and it's , sorry Sir, our transport is broken down , or no sir, it's 950 pesos--you must be mistaken. At Shangri-La , touted as one of the best, the barman wanted 2000 pesos per shot of plain old Johnny Walker. You can buy the whole bottle anywhere in Cebu for less than 100.

Plantation Bay is a big concrete joint with massive room rates and nothing else going for it.

Stay in a good Pension House for a fraction of the cost, excellent service with all the mod cons. Resorts????? Unless you dont care about frittering away good money, leave them to really dumb tourists as I reckon no-one would tell you they recommend any of them.

The best link---just Google Mactan budget accom and you will find plenty of good places for your family.Aresort for one night for 5--total waste of money if you aint a millionaire.
There is no such thing as a budget resort. Get real. The Maxwell is a new clean nice hotel with no amenities for about 1500p. Take a taxi to the beach. One day won't be enough. The Sarrosa isn't bad and has a pool.

If you want a hotel on the beach pay the price.

Ever break a bed in an expesive resort hotel?

we went away one time and got trashed and we broke the bed in the room, and the hotel manager had to call the repair man at 2:30 in the morning, and they couldn't fix it so they had to send us to another room. It was pretty funny. Think they thought we were trashy?Ever break a bed in an expesive resort hotel?
hahaha! no my own.........my boyfriend picked me up and threw me on it...we were fighting- that sounds weird

then he called me a fat *** . I didnt tell him to throw me!Ever break a bed in an expesive resort hotel?
Not the actual bed just the headboard came loose for some reason lol.
    Yep, trashy behaviour alright
Yes. Too much sex on it.
They probably run into that all the time. I mean, especially if you went to a resort hotel that gets the whole spring break crowd.
My ex broke a headboard in an expensive hotel room...um...doing stuff... :)
It was sooooo embarassing. I sat on a bed at one of the resorts at DisneyWorld, and it collapsed. I rationalized that kids before us were jumping up and down on the bed and loosened the pieces. They sent a repairman, and I wanted to hide in the bathroom. I figured they were thinking it was either wild sex or a 300 pound guest.
one time my boyfriend was plowing me and ripped the headboard out of the wall... the bastards made us pay for it
    No and no
What do you think?.......that's what I thought.
no, me and her aint that heavy together.

Anyone can post a review about different hotels they have visited and there are so many on there that I'm guessing you would find this one :)

Anyone ever stayed at the Wyndham Orlando Resort hotel??

If so, are there any hidden fees for the amenities???

Is there an on-board charge you have to give them when u check-in??

I am asking cuz there is an event going there this weekend..

And on CNN they talked about how big hotels and resorts charge hidden fees for amenities that you might not even use

Example.. fitness room... looking inside the minibar (but not drinking it), the pool, crazy stuff.. and im on a budget cuz I was in miami last weekend and just kind of want an idea as to how much I'm going to be spending.. and any other advice would be helpful thanks!!

I'm reading reviews now but I would like more info.Anyone ever stayed at the Wyndham Orlando Resort hotel??
I've stayed there a couple times over a year ago through Priceline. A lot of tourists like it because of the numerous pools to choose from. Frankly, it is an older hotel made up of clustered buildings (was a Marriott for years before changing to Wyndham). While rooms have modern furnishings and comfy beds, a musty, old smell seems to persist in the buildings. It has a good location on International Drive. All in all, you could do worse, but as far as accommodations, I would rate it a marginal 3 star. As far as additional charges that you heard on CNN, I have not experienced these at the Wyndham and would not expect to at any of the major upscale chain hotels. I do remember they tacked on a 8% Resort fee, but that's the norm in that area.Anyone ever stayed at the Wyndham Orlando Resort hotel??
I'm not sure whether you've checked out the reviews at IgoUgo.com yet, but there are three on the Wyndham Orlando Resort and -- luckily! -- they all appear quite favorable:

    http://www.igougo.com/travelcontent/jour鈥?/a>

As for whether or not they charge hidden fees, I think you'd have to call the hotel and ask, or else be very clear when you're checking in about what you may or may not get charged for. You'll be asked to put down your credit card for incidentals, and so you want to know exactly WHAT incidentals you're being charged for. Some things to consider might be parking, Internet, food, laundry, and bottles of water in the room. Legally, however, these things should be very clearly marked -- and if you ask beforehand to double-check, you're covering your bases as much as you possibly can. Should you be charged for something that isn't marked -- and if you can prove you asked beforehand whether or not you'd be charged; perhaps you can even write down the name of the person you asked -- you should have a very good case for getting the hotel to take the charge off your bill.

Finally, I'd be very, very surprised to learn that you'd be charged for looking inside the minibar! Unless there's some sort of seal that would be broken, or code you'd have to key in beforehand, I highly doubt anyone would even KNOW you'd looked in the mini bar. The golden rule, of course, is don't take anything from there -- even if you don't eat it, it'll be counted as missing -- and you'll be fine. And if there is an extra charge for the fitness room, you wouldn't have to pay for it unless you actually used it -- and in that case, you'd obviously ask beforehand so that you'd know.

Hope this helps a little. Have a fantastic stay!

    Holly

When I stayed at Walt Disney World resort hotel a LONG time ago.....?

When I stayed at Walt Disney World a LONG time ago, they let you go to any of the resort pools. Do they still let you do this within your category. I don't believe they had categories back then. Also they had sprites (little boats) you could drive on the lake. Do they still have those? When I stayed at Walt Disney World resort hotel a LONG time ago.....?
Disney prefers you not to go to other resorts to use the pools. This changed about 3 years ago. Also they have updated the small boats on the seven seas lagoon. They made them faster with bigger motors. When I stayed at Walt Disney World resort hotel a LONG time ago.....?
No, they still have the little boats though, and for instance if you stay at the All Star Movies Hotel, you can swim at any of the All Star pools.
You can check that online...(thanks to VP Gore who was kind enough to invent the internet ha)...everything is at your fingertips.
You are encouraged to visit the other resorts for meals, but Disney does not allow youto go to other resorts to use the pools. This changed about 3 years ago. There are signs posted. Also the small boats are still there. They are so much fun.
you are still allowed to pool hop, except for beach and yacht club members are only allowed in those pools no one from other hotels are able to go to those, but beach and yacht club guests are allowed to go to other pools if they want. and yes the hotels on 7 seas lagoon still have the little boats!! have fun!!
Yes they have both still! Ur never too old to go back there. I love it!
They frown upon pool hopping, but would never actually kick you out of a pool. The only one you cannot use it the Yacht Club/Beach Club pool. They use wrist bands, so if you aren't a guest you can't get in. But that is the only pool where they enforce or even keep track of who is using it. Any other pool you are okay to use, just don't come out and tell anyone you aren't staying there. The Poly is my favorite.

And as answered above, yes they still have the little boats you can rent. They have them in several places around Disney World, including the seven seas lagoon.
Currently, you are allowed to swim at:

    1. Any pools at your resort (some have several), and

    2. Any pools at a 'sister' resort (being the same category doesn't automatically make it a sister resort, and not all resorts have 'sisters').

Based on comments that I've read here, they DO enforce this, and not necessarily nicely.

As far as the little boats, all except the value resorts have them (though the adjacent lagoon/waterway might not be worth it for some of them). Sounds like the Seven Seas Lagoon upgraded theres (the best place to do it anyway, much, much more to see and more space).
I dont know if they have catagories or not. I do no that the Grand Floridian hotel and the Swan and Dolphin have boats and pattleboats for you to rent and ride
You are NOT supposed to pool hop, except all of the All Star Resorts can use any All Star pools. If you did it anyway, will they catch you? Probably not, unless they get really busy and start checking ID's.

How far is bangkok airport to pattaya - mike garden resort hotel?

how is it traveled??? by car??? if it is how many hoursHow far is bangkok airport to pattaya - mike garden resort hotel?
Distance is about 100km and if you take a cab, it will cost you from 1000-1400baht to get to Pattaya. Mike is in the central area, so quite easy by cab.How far is bangkok airport to pattaya - mike garden resort hotel?
traveling time should be around 1 to 2 hours from the airport, depends on the time of the day
Less than an hour by bus, van, taxi. Bus is under $2.00 U

S dollars, Private taxi around $20.00 US dollars.
It is about one hour and half From airport. I am sure more readers will submit their numbers for cheap and realiable taxi's.
2 hours from airport, but, be careful, take only oficial bus, not private taxi
    1. On arrival at Bangkok/s Suvanabhumi airport, and having cleared immigration and customs, on entering the ';public'; area, turn right.

    2. Politely ignore/decline ALL the offers for cabs/taxis/limousines you will receive and go down the moving escalator to the next level.

    3. Exit the building at that level and you will see tables in front of you where the (english speaking) attendants will write down your destination (tell them the hotel) in Thai and pass that (ticket) to another attendant who will show you to a taxi. (Generally these are plentiful and there is very little queueing).

Most of these public taxis will use the meter. This should clock up around 7 to 800 Baht to Pattaya (the new airport is at the eastern side of the city, just off the main bangkok-Pattaya highway).

-You will also have to pay the road tolls (I think these total about 100 Baht).

    -The distance is around 130Km.

However the road is frequently congested with heavy trucks, and much of it is under repair currently. So what would be a 60-80 minute journey can consume in excess of 2 hours.

-You are also advised to close your eyes (tailgating is an accepted driving technique).

-If the hotel has a location map on it's website, it may help to print that out before you leave (especially if there's a Thai version).

How safe is Koh samui for females travelling Alon and has anybody been to Samui beach resort hotel?

    Safety

Thailand is generally considered a safe country and for tourists, Ko Samui is very safe place with no open violence in the streets. There is probably criminality, but it is unlikely that you will encounter it. The worst that could happen to you is probably that you get pickpocketed or that a tout tries to take you to a shopping center. These people often wait in front of temples or museums and tell you that they are closed. Guess what they suggest you should do instead? Right, visit a jewellery shop - or a handicraft store... Just ignore them. If the temple happens to be really closed, you can come back and get a taxi or a songthaew then. Always refuse when somebody offers you a free tour at tourist attractions As everywhere, of course, it is better to avoid carrying large amounts of cash; credit cards or traveller`s cheques are preferable. How safe is Koh samui for females travelling Alon and has anybody been to Samui beach resort hotel?

Only been to Samui with my other half, had a great time, we stopped at the Imperial Boathouse - very good hotel, just a short taxi ride into the town - I don't think I could travel anywhere on my own these days!!
if you travel in a group of 3 or 4 you will be quite safe.im a man andi wouldnt fly alone anyway.times have changed since i was flying from coast to coast while in the military in the early 70s.
its highly over rated ,i think its safe enough

Are there any movies with waterslides at resorts/hotels?

I need upscale hotels with waterslides in them.. pref not the over-the-top disneyland stuff.. anyone? Are there any movies with waterslides at resorts/hotels?
Its not a movie but from Malcolm in the Middle. The family goes to some water park that has a swimming pool and water slides. Malcolm is afraid of the fact that the slide is so high, he eventually gets pushed down the slide.....Its a very funny episode. Don't know where you can watch it though. Are there any movies with waterslides at resorts/hotels?
I don't know if an upscale hotel would want a waterslide.

Unfortuntely, the only movie I know that has a water slide is ';Bill %26amp; Ted's Excellent Adventure';, but it's not at a hotel (the park is called 'waterloo').
i know i've seen a movie where it shows the waterslides from the atlantis resort, but I can't think of the movie...i'll try to remember.

    Calypso Cay resort hotel complex?

Anyone had any dealings with a hotel group in Florida called Calypso Cay resort?

Picked up on the net some horrendous stories about this resort.

Anyone throw any light on this subject.

Selling holidays at very low prices over the telephone.Calypso Cay resort hotel complex?
The only info I can give regarding Calypso Cay is that we went to their timeshare sales presentation back in 2003, though, we did not actually stay on the resort itself. The only reason we went is so that we could get our free Sea World Tickets...so it was worth the 1 hour ';spiel'; and I told the sales rep up front that we were not interested and we only came for the ';freebies';. From what I can remember, the resort was actually really pretty, with a nice pool area, and the timeshare villas were nicely decorated with Key West-like colors and decor (at least that's how it was with the room he showed us). Also, I don't know if they offer free shuttle to the theme parks either, so that's something to keep in mind. ...and good for you for doing some research before you jump onto the deal...also, read the fine print and ask lots and lots of questions over the phone to see if there are any reservation fees, tax fees, etc to make sure they don't do the old ';bait and switch'; on you and end up tacking on all these extra costs at the end of your trip.Calypso Cay resort hotel complex?
Are you talking about timeshare stories? Some places give you better price but you must attend TS presentations, it is actually a condition for great price. I do not talk about this particular resort but there are plenty who do that. Other resorts give you regular price but although you do not have to go to TS presentations, they annoy you every day.

Anyone heard of EKEN resort hotel gumbet, we are going there in september?
I have visited Gumbet many times. Your resort doesn't have many good points about it, and also gumbet is not that close to the beach you need to take (about a 15 min) bus to get there. If you love shopping then again the bus trip is needed. There isn't anything to see in Gumbet from my point of view, its only good for partying and the music is very load and drinking very heavy in Gumbet. Your best bet is to re-think and try a resort in Bodrum/Marmaris etc. Turkey is a beautiful place and there are many attractions to suit all types of people. stick to the main city resorts such as Antalya, Bodrum, kusadsi, etc then you are sure to have a great time what-ever your needs.

Hi! Is there any cool resorts, hotels or motels in Walt Disney World and where.?

I am trying to find a resort hotel or motel that is at least by the magic resorts.Hi! Is there any cool resorts, hotels or motels in Walt Disney World and where.?
We, too, stayed at the Pop Century in May!! It was awesome. We live in Georgia and we booked our vacation through Disney.com. Like Jen said, there are a lot of perks if you stay on the Disney property. If you fly into the Orlando airport, they provide the Disney Magical Express...a very nice motor coach bus to take you to your resort. Then they provide transportation to each of the 4 parks. Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and MGM. They also go to downtown Disney. If you go to Disney.com, you can see pictures and get quotes on packages. For a lot more info. check out this website. www.wdisneyw.co.uk The message boards there are really cool. Hope you have fun!!Hi! Is there any cool resorts, hotels or motels in Walt Disney World and where.?
i love Polynesian Village, and there's a Ramda Inn Safari, outside Disney that's nice and affordable. I also liked Fort Wilderness, a Dude ranch!
Resorts by the Magic Kingdom are the Contemporary, the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian...all quite pricey$$$. You might want to try any of the All-Stars if you have a tight budget, or Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans or Coronado Spring for a more moderate resort.

There is free transportation for all Walt Disneyworld guests, so it's easy to get to all of the Disney Parks.
Well, Disney World's resorts are all very good.

The one's I recommend (and I've visited) are:

Pop Century, Coronado Springs, Walt disney World's Dolphin, and my most favorite of all.....Disney's Boardwalk.

For the boardwalk, be prepared to spend money!
We went to WDW in May of this year and stayed at the All Stars resort property ';Pop Century';. It is nice because it is on Disney property, it is affordable, you receive free transportation to all the parks, and transportation from the airport. There are other Value resorts, just different themes. i.e. sports %26amp; movie.

We found it cheaper to book the hotel, flights, etc through expedia, however, we are from Canada so I don't know if the same would apply traveling within the USA. You can go check out the resorts and their location within the Disney World Resort if you go to disney.com They also have a vacation planner, but again we found it cheaper to book it ourselves through the internet.

There are likely very nice hotel properties outside of the resort itself, but if you are not wanting to fight traffic, find parking, pay for parking, etc. Staying in the resort has its perks. Plus guests staying at a Disney property receive early admission and parks stay open later just for guests on select days. Hope this helps!
fort wilderness is near the magic.

but you have to take a boat ride to the magic kingdom and it dosen't cost more then the polynasin grand floridain and contempery
i don't know of any that are on the premises, but Cypress Harbour is a beautiful resort. I go there every year.

You know her tasts; will she like the over done Trump Taj? a smaller place. PErhaps you should take the bus down there on the weekend for the day, its almost free, and pick the best one for her.
    hard to answer
I'm a Brit and three years ago stayed with a friend in New York. One weekend we went to Atlantic City and stayed at the Showboat Casino/Hotel, on the boardwalk.

Despite the rather sleazy image of casinos on this side of the ocean, it was an enjoyable two days. The accommodation was first class, the rates aceptable, the food in all restaurants was excellent and plentiful, and, best of all, I won 1000 Dollars on my third attempt at 'slots' - and didn't lose it subsequently, either!

I hope your mother enjoys the excitement and has the same good fortune as I.

It is simply the nicest looking casino, with the most BLING, in AC. I really recomend it.

I also like tje Taj Mahal, but that is because they really take care of me there, and I can get a lot of things comped, but that is because I have a long history there.

What I suggest that you do if you are starting off going to a casino, is to target one place, and go there time after time, at least 3-4 visits in a row. Then they will really start taking care of you, and you start getting a lot of things comped. And they ask you to come back, and offer free rooms, and other nice options.

Why is lucban the best location for a resort hotel?

If a survey was conducted among hoteliers, Lucban will not figure among the top 10 resort hotel locations at all. There are a lot of resort hotels in more popular (arguably better) locations nationwide. To name a few of the best locations for a resort hotel : Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, Siargao, Cebu, Camiguin, Guimaras, the coastal areas of Ilocos, Bataan, Nasugbu, etc.

Even if the end-users (the people, the customers) are polled, Lucban will still, most likely, not figure in the list of best locations if the question does not show a list of options. I mean no one will voluntarily mention Lucban.

But if your point is to rationalize the choice of Lucban as a location for a resort hotel, and only to justify the decision:

    1. Lucban is idyllic, and resort-goers may want rustic settings for vacations.

    2. Lucban has a lot of nice streams and waterfalls. This is ideal for a resort operation, au naturel.

    3. The people of Lucban are nice and welcoming. Resort guests will feel good going around town.

    4. Lucban is a destination, especially during the Pahiyas, no matter that this is only a once-a-year event.

    5. There is a pancit delicacy in Lucban that can be merchandised as another reason to visit the resort in the place.

    6. Lucban is quite near the tourism corridor in Laguna that includes Ugu Bigyan's pottery place, the restaurant of Patis Tesoro in San Pablo, etc. It is an easy hop among weekenders.

Good luck. Why is lucban the best location for a resort hotel?
L,Q. is an ideal place for a resort hotel because it is where the ';Kamay Ni Hesus Healing Church'; is located and tourist flock to see the massive statue of Jesus Christ. (a religious tourist destination)

Yeah, like the guy said earlier, the Cape Codder is Nice, good for kids, they have a nice pool with a waterslide. But the water gets so filthy and overchlorinated in the summer, due to all the people flocking there. Pretty good though. I think during weekends they have bonfires outside the pool area. I haven't been there in a few years though so I'm not sure.

The Hyannis Harbor Hotel (In Hyannis) is also great, but I'm not sure of the prices at this time of year. They have a great pool, clean, right on the water (as opposed to the Cape Codder, which is not), right near the ferry, restaurants, and boat tours. The breakfast kind of sucks but you'll live. It's nothing more than conflakes, coffee, and bagels. It's a good hotel otherwise. Actually, in their rooms they have slightly concave mirrors so you look thinner than you are. Isn't that funny? I discovered it one day when I was there.

The Anchor-In is very nice also. It in Hyannis, with a nice (small, but nice) pool, and right on the water, and I mean right on the water!!! Rooms are I think at the cheapest around $235 a night but I'm not sure. It's also pretty booked, too. But I think you could manage a weekend reservation, it's only a couple of days, however the weekend is their busiest time. But it's really nice. They just redid one of the old rooms to make a breakfast room, actually. It's a really nice place. Good breakfast, good service, everything. It's well worth the price. It's also right next to a ferry that goes to I think Martha's Vineyard. It's relatively close to the Hyannis Harbor Hotel I told you about, actually, (Right across the water) which means it is also close to the restaurants and things.

Been to the Cape quite a lot.
try ';the cape codder'; they are offering free food and $40 towards gas prices. nice place, indoor water park.

I am going to mauritius in september and staying at the preskil beach resort hotel, just wondered if anyone?

had ever been there and could let me know wat its like? if not has anyone been to mauritius in september, wats the weather like? xI am going to mauritius in september and staying at the preskil beach resort hotel, just wondered if anyone?
Amazing. To be honest, that was because of the hotel/resort though, we hardly had to leave. It looks amazing in pictures (which I'm sure you've looked at) but when your plane lands it just looks like fields and quite normal...it's not. Forget what's on the island because that's not the best part. You want to go out into the lagoons around the island, they're mainly on the eastern side. It's crystal clear water for miles, and you need to go out there by boat. We stayed at the Shandrini resort, which is literally 5 minutes from the airport. If you're going to go to the lagoons and you're not near this part of the island, head for the airport and people will have organised it there.

If you're one for scenery then the island looks beautiful from the lagoons when you're going up by boat, so that's always good. We also got to stop off at a little island there, where people cooked us lobster, swordfish etc for lunch. It's great because you look one way and there's the island, complete with all the mountains..and the other way there's the sea, which suddenly comes to a halt on the coral reef. We also did parasailing, and went to some waterfalls which you can dive in, swim in, and it's known for it's 'natural' spa. We also did snorkelling and its definitley a good day out.

We went in August last year, came back at the beggining of september. They said we came at the perfect time, as in september the temperature will shoot up. That's good. You wont struggle to see 30C.I am going to mauritius in september and staying at the preskil beach resort hotel, just wondered if anyone?
September is perfectly fine. Here in Mauritius, even in winter you can do some tanning at the beaches. And september is just the start of summer here in Mauritius, so it is going to be good for you.

Believe me, Mauritius is going to be one of your best holidays ever! Everyone who comes here absolutely love it. Am sure you'll be in the same boat...

Yes sure it is a nice hotel, the weather in September is great with temps around 26c day and 22c at night time, the sun is not as hard as in summer and we do not receive cyclones in winter.
it's beautiful like any other Tropical islands..

Family friendly resort/hotel in Palm Springs area?

We're vacationing with our three year old soon. We'd like to visit Palm Springs/Palm Desert area. What's a good resort with a kiddie pool, etc?Family friendly resort/hotel in Palm Springs area?
Considering the type of traveler that goes to PS, you are going to be very hard pressed to find a hotel with a kiddie pool.

To be honest, I hope you aren't going to go there in the summer. The main attraction about PS is that it has wonderful weather in the fall, winter, and spring. Starting in mid-may and June, you start to get scorching tempuratures, which don't cool down below triple digits until mid- to late September.

With that said, I think the Shiloh Inn would fit the bill. Nice place, nothing too fancy, and I have always liked the way they run their hotels.Family friendly resort/hotel in Palm Springs area?
Marriott Rancho Las Palmas is a nice resort. My family and I have met there before for Father's Day, and I've been there for a conference and gold trips. They have a section of bungalows that are priced well, include up to the 3 bedrooms, is on the golf course, and have full kitchens. I can't recall if they have an actual kiddie pool, but my young nieces and nephews all swam with no concern.
my personal favorite hotels at palm springs are Spa Resort and Casino, and Hyatt Suites

Yes! It's great!!! enjoy!!Ever travelled to Williams, Az and stayed at the Grand Canyon Resort Hotel and took the train tour?
I can offer my opinion to most of your question. In 2001 we we to Williams, AZ and stayed at the Fray Marcos Hotel. The hotel was very pleasant and had many Remington Bronzes on display. There is a Restaurant across the parking lot that offers 'buffet style' or waitress service from a menu. Another short walk to the train. You are entertained with a wild west show on the platform before you depart. The cars are restored and are pulled by a steam locomotive. The engine does have a diesel assist, since it is quite a steep grade to the South Rim. I regret I cannot help with the Resort Hotel, but would highly recommend the trip.

  • How do i know if this hotel is a disney resort hotel?!?

i may just be stupid, but were staying at the quality inn its 3 miles from disney and they provide a shuttle service, its really close, but it doesnt say its on the resort or not...How do i know if this hotel is a disney resort hotel?!?
A Quality Inn is just that, a Quality Inn and it is not a Disney Resort and is not located on Disney property. All of the Disney Resorts have Disney in front of their name. i.e. Disney's Port Orlean's Resort or Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The shuttle service from outside Disney property is atrocious. It takes forever with dozens of stops. I would strongly suggest visiting Disney's web site and booking one of their resorts. You will have a much better time staying on property. How do i know if this hotel is a disney resort hotel?!?
    All Disney resorts will stricly be ';Disney's Pop Century';

They have the ';Disney's'; with the ( 's )on it.

That is how you will know.

Quality inn is a good neighborhood resort but not any of the Disney's 23 resorts that are owned and operated by disney on WDW grounds.

below are all the resorts owned by Disney
If it's 3 miles from Disney, then it is not a Disney resort. Go to disney.com, click Parks, then Walt Disney World, My Disney Vacation, then, on the left, you'll see ';Find the Perfect Resort.'; You'll know anything listed there is a Disney resort.

Staying with Disney is the absolutely best way to do it. If they still have the ';Magical Express,'; they'll pick you up at the airport and will also get your bags from baggage claim. Your bags are brought to your room. When you leave, they take you and your bags to the airport and check them through. You don't have to do a thing.
That is not a Disney resort. I have stayed off Disney property twice, and will never ever do it again. Both times the ';shuttle'; service provided by the hotel was HORRID. It goes to other hotels, is jammed packed, takes forever. And one night getting out late from MGM the bus was packed beyond full and the bus driver kept telling us and 10 other people to just get on. When we didn't, no other bus was ever sent for us.

The parking lot where they drop you off is way far away from the park gates with no cover from the sun.
The Quality Inn is not a Disney Resort. A lot of hotels close to Disney offer a shuttle service to the parks since a lot of people stay at them. All of the Disney resorts are located on Disney grounds. You can check them out on the website. There are not any chain hotels inside of Disney, just Disney hotels. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/

Also try this website before your trip. It has everything you need to know and will answer most of your Disney World questions: http://allears.net/index.html

    Enjoy your trip!!
The Quality Inn is not a Disney Hotel. I don't know if they're considered a ';good neighbor'; hotel.

I don't think that Walt Disney World does a lot with good neighbor hotels, not like Disneyland where you can book them on their site.
Usually it will say it's a Disney resort and it's in Disney. And a lot of them actually have resort in the name. :)
The Quality Inn is not a Disney resort hotel. The Disney hotels are actually located on Disney property.
That is not a Disney owned hotel.

Go to intercot.com and click on resorts, there will be a list of all owned and operated Disney hotels on there.
no Quality is not a Disney Hotel--you can go to www.disneygo.com to get a complete list of hotels

Wilderness is great. We 've been there.

But there will be a lot of kids and teens, definitely not a quiet place.
wilderness resort will have a lot of kids, but its a good place. the kalahari is good, but expensive. the polynesian is also pretty good but mainly everything is outdoors so unless it warms up that might not work so well.

Beachfront resorts/hotels in or around Cape Town, South Africa?

Would like to have an adventurous, yet luxurious stay in or close to Cape Town with my wife and daughter, preferably a resort near a nice beach...Beachfront resorts/hotels in or around Cape Town, South Africa?
There are numerous sites that give you details of hotels and resorts in Cape Town from 5 star luxury to comfortable accommodation. It really depends on what you want and or can afford.

The V%26amp;A Waterfront Hotel at the CT Waterfront is extremely luxurious or you can try the Holiday Inn at the Waterfront. But there are cheaper hotels, like the Holiday Inn, Protea, City Lodge etc and literally hundreds of holiday accommodation and resorts to choose from.

If you really want to impress the wife then there is even the Mount Nelson.

Other places along the coast line that are really beautiful are, inter alia, Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Simonstown.

Here is one site of many relative to accommodation and you are able to make bookings on line.

In terms of what to do in Cape Town take a look at this site, once again one of many.

Enjoy your stay in Cape Town.Beachfront resorts/hotels in or around Cape Town, South Africa?
Adventure %26amp; Luxury? That sounds like the Cape Town I know!

Some of the more popular areas that I would recommend include Camps Bay, or the V%26amp;A Waterfront.

Camps Bay in particular, is amazing. It has been likened to St Tropez on more than one occasion. There are beautiful villas, apartments %26amp; hotels overlooking white beaches %26amp; Turquoise Ocean, set against a mountain backdrop. Table Mountain is a 5 minute drive, the Aquila Game Reserve is just over an hour away, and the Cape Winelands are reachable in less than 40 minutes.

If you are looking for a self catering apartment, I would recommend Cloud 9, which is right on the beachfront. www.capetown-direct.com/camps-bay/cloud-鈥?

and if you are looking for a hotel, I would recommend the Bay Hotel: http://www.cometocapetown.com/accommodat...

The V%26amp;A waterfront is also fantastic, but you won't be on the beach.

I would say Camps Bay is the place for you!
Cape Town does not really have any resorts as such but we do have many great hotels, have a look at http://www.capestay.co.za or http://www.savenues.com for accommodation

Which resort hotel is nice n not dirty in oahu waikiki beach budget isnt too much of a problem?

This hotel is fabulous, it was just redone. It's considered the First Lady of Hawaii as it's elegant and classical.

http://www.moana-surfrider.com/Which resort hotel is nice n not dirty in oahu waikiki beach budget isnt too much of a problem?
The Hilton is the best.Which resort hotel is nice n not dirty in oahu waikiki beach budget isnt too much of a problem?
    Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort Hotel.
Well Jules, there are many resort hotels in Oahu that are nice and not dirty.

In fact there are 5 diamond resorts, 5 star resorts and several 4 star resorts. If budget is no problem, you will find any of the highly rated properties to be clean, well maintained, beautiful, comfortable and with excellent service.

I think you need to be a lot more specific about what you have in mind for budget. ';Budget isn't too much of a problem'; could indicate that you'd be comfortable spending a lot. But I don't think that is what you mean.

I think you are saying that you want to find a resort hotel in Waikiki that is nice and affordable. There are only a few true resort hotels in Waikiki and all of them are of high enough quality that they will be clean. But, heck, Waikiki is a resort itself. You might not need or want a resort hotel which could be over your budget.

I'd suggest that you contact a travel agent who is a Hawaii specialist and tell her what you want from your hotel -- consider: location, view, room size, ambiance, budget, hotel amenities. Clean is easy. But one person's nice can be another person's complaint.

Tell someone who knows what they are doing what you really want and how much you can afford and have a professional recommend the most suitable hotel, taking all of your needs and preferences into account.
I have stayed in several hotels in Waikiki and none of them were dirty. There was a large range in prices though. Since you said budget isn't too much of a problem, why not stay at the Royal Hawaiian? It's the pink hotel right in the middle of Waikiki Beach! Beautiful, elegant, and serene. I would stay there again in a heartbeat, but unfortunately for me budget *is* a consideration, even with kama'aina rates.
    Hilton Hawaiian Village is nice.
    Halekulani ~ http://www.halekulani.com/

    Moana Surfrider ~ http://www.moana-surfrider.com/

    Hyatt Regency Waikiki ~ http://waikiki.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/in鈥?/a>
The Hilton Hawaiian village is what I would pick if budget wasn't a problem. It has much more land than the others and feels more resort like. It isn't as close to all the action and the beach area is more impressive. The beaches closer to the Waikiki action are eroded. If you want to be in the thick of it I would pick Moana surfrider. A beautiful hotel as well. IMO

Here is a great website for reviews of hotels etc.

Niagara falls romantic getaway? whats a good resort/hotel also which side is better US or Canada?

please let me know of any romantic hotels, resorts or b and b's. Also if february is a good time to go?Niagara falls romantic getaway? whats a good resort/hotel also which side is better US or Canada?
    Canadian side is better.

If you want romance stay at Niagara-on-the-lake, not at the Falls.

There is not a much too do there, but you will be busy being romantic, right :)Niagara falls romantic getaway? whats a good resort/hotel also which side is better US or Canada?
The waterfalls itself isn't the tallest in the word, but it has the most water flowing over it in the world. There are three parts to the cataracts. The largest is the Horseshoe Falls in Canada, the American Falls and the Bridal Falls on the US side of the Niagara river. The Niagara river flows from Lake Erie near Fort Erie, Ontario and Buffalo, New York northbound to the falls and continues to flow into Lake Ontario at Niagara On The Lake and Lewiston , New York. There are many tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants to visit especially on the Canadian side. The Americana Hotel and Spa on Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls is very nice. February is nice, it's cool but most attractions are open. If you have the money stay at the Merriot Hotel that overlooks the falls.
Canadian side much cleaner, more to do, more hotels.

The Embassy Suites is lovely - but it will be COLLLLLDDDDD in February. Hard to get out to enjoy the falls, good to be inside being romantic.
Forget about the AMerican side, it sucks big time. ANytime is a great time to visit the Canadian side. Try www.forterie.com. I think that's the one that show a live feed of the falls. ALso search by typing in NiagaraFals/ontario. You will love it there. They have casinos and the town itself looks like Vegas at night. There's a lot to see and do. I'm starting to sound like a commercial....LOL
Kentata hit it on the head! But let me suggest that even staying inside lots, you're not likely to enjoy Niagra Falls in February - too darn cold, with blustery winds. If you're looking for a romantic getaway in February, some place warmer would be better. One possibility is San Antonio, TX. It has a fine area around the Riverwalk that we've enjoyed more than once. Stay nearby!
Niagara Falls is a beautiful place to get away to. In our visits there we found the ';Sheraton on the Falls'; to be one of the nicer hotels. It's in the middle of the action and if you get a ';fallsview room'; you can see the falls from outside your window, which is beautiful at night. (They illuminate them after dark.)

If you're planning a visit in February, bring lots of warm clothes because it gets chilly!

If you'd like to learn more about Niagara Falls, please visit the resource listed below.
B+B,s are cheaper,Hotels are plenty full, the Canadian side are more things to do and nice walking along to the Falls. Brock Plaza Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in the can.side. and right next to the Casino Niagara. So come and have your romantic adventure. have fun
I live here in the Falls. The hotels in Niagara-on-the-Lake, 26 miles north of the falls and the beginning of the falls tens of thousands of years ago, is the romantic area. The Prince of Whales, Queens' Landing, Piller and Post are all old romantic cozy hotels that cater to romantic get aways. The hotels in Niagara Falls are geared more towards the mini Las Vegas feel that has come to the falls in later years. Don't believe the people who say it's too cold in February, the last five years have been above 32F during the day (Global Warming). Niagara Falls U.S.A. is a let down, years ago the U.S. side wanted to gain large industry and lost all the prime tourism and gained some scary neighborhoods. Niagara Falls Canada was made into a one of a kind Federal/Provincial Park and has never catered to large industry near the water. If your heart is for a romantic hotel in the falls, the Doubletree is new kid on the block.
The Canadian side is far nicer, far cleaner, far safer. And many more things to do away from the Falls and far better restaurants (one of the two most major wine growing areas in Canada is located on the south shore of Lake Ontario)

Also, not well known except for those that live there: Niagara is not the only falls. There are several small rivers on the Niagara Peninsula that also cascade over the escarpment, usually in places where there is nobody. When I lived there I would always find [romantic] solace at one of them located between St. Catharines and Grimsby.

I want to stay in a top resort hotel in california - any personal reccomendations?

There are wonderful choices in both Northern and Southern Ca

In Northern Ca, I would recommend the following:

Auberge Du Soleil in Napa Valley or the newer Carneros Inn or Meadowood

There is also the Ventana Inn as well as the Post Ranch Inn (Central coast)

In So. Cal, you will find great properties in Dana Point, like the Ritz Carlton, The St Regis and othersI want to stay in a top resort hotel in california - any personal reccomendations?
Take the Pacific Highway north of San Fransisco to Little River and stay at the Little River Inn - fantastic especially the annex overlooking the ocean. For the height of luxury check out The Ahwahnee in Yosemite Park..I want to stay in a top resort hotel in california - any personal reccomendations?
I had a wonderful time at the Ritz...but for abit of variation (or depending on your style) the Trump Towers is also a good place!
Ritz Carltons are usually top-drawer resorts.
Ritz Carltons is voted the best hotel

California is big. So check out the websites below from Frommers. This limits the choice to make it easier.

  • Can you recommend a nice resort/hotel in rizal conducive for a conference - 3 day/2night stay?

In Lores Resort in Antipolo City. They have convention hall there that can accommodate even 100 persons. Can you recommend a nice resort/hotel in rizal conducive for a conference - 3 day/2night stay?
If you prefer affordable hotel-like rooms, I recommend Club Manila East in Taytay. Im not sure though if they have Conference room available. You can check their website and inquire for their facilities.

Another is MMLDC in Sumulong highway Antipolo. It's a bit pricey, they offer delicious full board meals, and they always maintain clean rooms (bed, toilet and shower). You have everything you need, no need to bring toiletries. They have plenty of conference rooms- for AVP, classroom type, group exercise. Check the website below and call for inquiries. Can you recommend a nice resort/hotel in rizal conducive for a conference - 3 day/2night stay?

Which would make a better honeymoon a cruise of hawaii or just staying at a resort hotel there?

The resort. My husband and I did a cruise of the Mexican Riviera for our Honeymoon and stayed at a resort in Cancun for our 1st anniversary and we much preferred the resort. You get a chance to see and do so much more when you are centered in one place as opposed to in port for just a few hours.......Which would make a better honeymoon a cruise of hawaii or just staying at a resort hotel there?
Resort hotel. There's no chance of anyone puking on the other while having sex.Which would make a better honeymoon a cruise of hawaii or just staying at a resort hotel there?
Resort I'd say. I have stayed at the Ka'anapali beach Hotel - Hawaii's most Hawaiian hotel and the peace found there is fabulous. They really look after you there.

Cruises are not for me - total lack of intimacy!
    the resort I would say
    The Cruise, for sure....!!
    Hotel.

    I get sea sick =(
The cruise may be romantic, but I can tell you from experience that if you are on a cruise ship for more than four days, you will go ape.
    cruise I`d say!
IMO, staying there is the better choice but I'm not really into cruises.

We're going next summer and I looked into the cruises but I want to spend a lot of time just hangin at the beach, boogie boarding and stuff so we decided staying at a hotel would be the best choice for us.
The cruise...sorry but it just seems more romantic
I have never been on a Hawaiian cruise, but I stayed on Maui for my Honeymoon. I think one of the benefits of staying on the island is that the laid back nature of Hawaii is it's greatest appeal. My favorite thing that my husband and I did was just to sit and watch a couple of guys play the ukulele on a stage at the hotel one evening. It was so laid back and non-touristy and very authentic Hawaiian. We stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel.
    resort hotel =)

What is nice resort hotel to stay in at walt disney world?

There are a lot of great hotels at Walt Disney World. They are broken into three categories:

Deluxe Resorts are smaller complexes and have more amenities like restaurants, larger beds, and some are very convenient to the theme parks. The pools can be ';fairly standard'; (Grand Floridian) to ';quite nice'; (Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge) to ';absolutely amazing (Beach Club %26amp; Yacht Club).

Moderate resorts all have a sit-down restaurant except Port Orleans French Quarter which shares a restaurant with Port Orleans Riverside. The moderate resorts can be quite large and the pools have waterslides.

The Value Resorts have smaller rooms, double beds and standard pools without waterslides but the theming is very, very Disney and a lot of fun. These resorts have food courts but no sit-down restaurants.

Because it is Disney, each of the resorts has a theme of some kind. You should find something that suites your tastes.

A good Travel Agent (like me!) specializing in Walt Disney World Travel will be able to help you narrow down the choices. What is nice resort hotel to stay in at walt disney world?
All of the resorts in WDW are nice to stay in, it just depends on what you want in your resort. Disney has 4 different levels of resort, value, moderate, deluxe, and vacation club. Each has it's good and bad.

The value resorts are the least expensive on property. The values have rooms on the smaller side and no sit down table service restaurant. Other than that they are great. They have large themed pools, unbelieveable decor, good food courts, and are very clean. My favorite in this category is the All-Star Movies, with Pop Century close behind.

The moderates are a step up from the values, in amenitites and price. The rooms are a bit larger, they have their own bus routes (the All-Star resorts share for the most part), have a sit down table service restaurant along with the food court, and are a bit larger over all. My favorite in this category is the Caribbean Beach resort.

The deluxe are the cream of the crop. All of them but one (the Animal Kingdom lodge) are situated around the Seven Seas lagoon in front of the Magic Kingdom. These have even larger rooms, more amenities and things to do at the resort itself, multiple restaurants including character dining. These are expensive, but worth the money. My favorite in this category is the Polynessian.

The vacation club are the home away from home resorts. In these you will have a studio all the way up to a three bedroom grand villa (townhouse). Each of the rooms has a full kitchen, except for the studio rooms which has a small kitchenette. They also have multple choices for dining and large themed pools. My favorite in this category is the Saratoga Springs resort and Spa.

I hope this helps. If you want more info I would check two sources. First, go to the Disney website and use their resort comparison tool. You can use the tool to pick your resort and even get a quote. Second check out the disboards. The disboards is a message boards website that is all about going to WDW. You can get resort reviews, restaurant reviews, trip reports, tips for avoiding crowds, ask questions, and get answers from people who go to WDW often and know what they are talking about.

Hope this helps, have a great trip! What is nice resort hotel to stay in at walt disney world?
We love the Polynesian. It is one of the most beautiful resorts. Being there in the Magic Kingdom is such a nice convenience, and the beach there on the lagoon is perfect for the nightly fireworks.

The Beach and Yacht Club are also very nice. Being within walking distance to Epcot and the Boardwalk makes getting into the parks so easy. MGM is also nearby.

To us it is worth paying the extra to be on property. If you're not into that, the resorts in Downtown Disney are nice, and some even have views of Epcot's nightly fireworks and transportation to the parks. You also might consider the Swan or Dolphin in the Epcot area. Hope you have a great trip.
Lots of nice ones - Grand Floridian-expensive though, Polynesian-nice theme and all sports is good if you have kids! They all seem nice and near to Disney - have a great time!
There are plenty of choices depending on your budget. The most economic one with decent service and staff is ';Best Western Lakeside';.

Check also these two great websites:

I personally think all of the ones we've stayed in are nice - you get the same great Disney service regardless of whether you stay in a value resort or one of the more expensive ones! We're going to be staying at the Animal Kingdom lodge in a week! I'm so excited! I just wanted to stay there once, in a savannah view room, so we're doing that this year. We stayed at Coronado Springs Resort last year - it was nice, but I prefer the decor in the rooms at the All-Star Resorts! When I go to WDW, I want to be surrounded by WDW! Most people really don't spend much time in their hotel rooms anyway...

Book through the WDW website - no travel agent fees and you can add a dining package (which I HIGHLY recommend!)
Polynesian, Floridian, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge are all great.
Depending on what you want, they are all nice

If you are going to spend the money Grandee Florinda

Wildness Lodge is nice, a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom

    Cometary is also nice Hotel

Caribbean is a good hotel, that the middle range

The all stars and pop century are good hotels, those are the cheapest

I stayed at moderate hotel, I like it. It had a slide, my child love it. The room was nice
