I'd like to stay at the Animal Kingdom Resort, but $275 a night is pricey. Are there any discounts for Disney Resorts Hotels in Orlando?
Animal Kingdom is usually around $225 a night. There are typically no discounts, but sometimes if you call the reservations number, and book a moderate priced resort, if it's not a busy season, they will upsell you to a deluxe resort for the same price.
The moderate hotels on Disney property are wonderful! Caribbean Beach is beautiful as is Saratoga Springs and Port Orleans and are more in the $150 a night price range.
Have a great time!

I've found good deals at the Swan and the Dolphin. The Swan is a Sheraton and the Dolphin is a Westin. The best deals I've seen is on sheraton/westin's website and through aaa. The Dolphin also offers discount rates to teachers (I think it was $149 when we stayed there last fall). The nice thing about these hotels is that you can take a water taxi to EPCOT or MGM. EPCOT is so close you can walk to it.
If you are a Florida resident (or know one who you will pay back), discounts are available for most nights that are not holidays (nobody can get discounts for Christmas and that sort of thing).
Annual Passholders are also afforded some extra money-saving deals.
After that, AAA offers discounts to its members at all Disney resorts.
First try these 2 websites for any discounts available....allearsnet.com and mousesavers.com
Another option is to rent out someones points for the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The AKL is now a Disney Vacation Club Resort. You can usually find people renting out there points for a lot less then what Disney wil charge you. Try doing a search on ebay under Disney Vacation Club or DVC Points. Another website that is just for renting and Buying Points is http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.ph鈥?/a>
Anyone may ';rent'; point reservations from DVC members and DVC members may transfer points between one another. Transactions between DVC members and others are provided for in the Member Guidelines of the Disney Vacation Club. However these transactions are entirely conducted without the assistance of the Disney Information Station (other than providing the Rent/Trade Board forum) or DVC (other than making the actual reservation or other transfer of points).
