Where is the best Disneyworld resort hotel to stay if I need super close access to the park?

We have one person in a wheel chair, and we want to be able to quickly take him back to the room whenever he is tired.Where is the best Disneyworld resort hotel to stay if I need super close access to the park?
The Contemporary followed by the Grand Floridian are physically closest to the Magic Kingdom although they are most easily accessed via the monorail which also links to the Polynesian and so that is practically just as close.

Wilderness Lodge can accessed by boat from the Magic Kingdom.Where is the best Disneyworld resort hotel to stay if I need super close access to the park?
If price is not an issue the deluxe resorts are the best in that category. You could get to the Contemporary, the Polynesian, or Grand Floridian quickly by way of the monorail. (The Animal Kingdom lodge is not on the monorail system, FYI.) You would also be able to go to Epcot as well using the monorail. The monorail is the most wheelchair friendly mode of transportation Disney offers. If you wanted to go to the other parks all of the Disney buses are wheelchair lift equiped, and it is very simple for the driver to use. When we were there in April there were a few people in chairs that we saw and each time the ease of getting them on the bus was amazing. There are also designated seats that lift up so wheelchair bound guests can be comfortable. People are supposed to give up the seats (there is a big sign) or the driver is supposed to ask them to move if a guest in a wheelchair is coming aboard the bus. I have never seen anyone have a problem changing seats to accomodate a wheelchair guest. I would check with the Disney website if you need more info, the link is below.

Have a great trip!
You will want to stay in the deluxe resorts. Those are the most convenient. In the Magic Kingdom, the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge all have ferries that leave directly from the resort and go straight to the entrance to the park. The Contemporary actually has a path leading to the MK entrance. And there is also the monorail that connects the resorts.

The Yacht and Beach Club, Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin are all within walking distance to Epcot. There are also ferries here to take you across the lagoon.

These are all very nice hotels and all super convenient to their perspective parks. If you are staying a few nights you might even consider moving around and staying in each park's resort as you visit. We love to do that. Two nights in an Epcot resort, two nights in a Magic Kingdom resort and two nights in Animal Kingdom.

All of the resorts are so nice. It is fun to tour them and it is very convenient to be basically, right in each park that you are visiting. Plus, to avoid having to take buses from your resort in one area, to a park in another, and then have to wait on the bus to get back to your resort is not easy with someone who tires easily.

Personally if you're going deluxe, I would recommend staying on the concierge club level. The lounge has snacks out most of the day, along with drinks. There's a tv to watch and in many of the lounges you have nice views of the parks. It's a great place to hang out after a long day and recharge, and even watch the nightly fireworks.

Have a great trip!
All of the resorts have transportation to and from the parks, so you can stay at any resort and it won't matter. good luck!
well it would depend on which park youanted to be closes to. i would reccomend though a hotel with the monorail, because it provides fast service back and from your room. i would reccomend the contemporary resort, even though the polynesian and grand floridian have the monorail. i have stayed at all of these resorts and the contemporary is my faveorite. the monorail at this hotel goes right through it, and there are elevators all over the place for your convienince. if you stay here, i would also suggest a room on one of the wings because they are bigger and less crowded than the ones in the tower. the monorail would go to magic kingdom and epcot also, so that would make you a bit closer to those 2 parks which are the best ones in my opinion.

P.S.~

if you take the monorail to magic kingdom from the contemporary you will board and go to the polynesian, the grand floridian, and then get to the park. it only takes around 5 min. doing this, but you can also walk from the hotel if you wish.

if you are taking the monorail to epcot you will board and go the polynesian and then the grand floridian as usual, then you will go to the transportation and ticket center, switch monorails and then go to epcot.

you will also like having a person in a wheelchair here though, because you get to cut the ENTIRE line for any ride.

have fun, you will really love it!!
Bonnet Creek, but it is a timeshare only resort. Very nice though.
It's really hard to say because some resorts are close to Magic Kingdom but far away from Downtown Disney. And some are close to Downtown Disney but far away from Magic Kingdom. I would find a hotel you like the best and use that as your guide because depending on what parks you are going to really depends on how far away your resort is.

Contact Disney and discuss it with them. They can give you helpful tips for traveling with someone in a wheelchair.
Stay where ever you choose. Disney has planned ahead, buses are wheel chair accessible and they load and unload first. Do not let this change your plans. They will also assist in getting on and off rides. The maps have a denotation of rides that are accessible.

Every hotel has wheel chair accessible rooms, just ask when you make your reservations, they will also give you a down stairs room or one near the elevator and as close as possible to tansportation.

We went a few years ago with a friend in a chair, there were no worries.
I would stay at a Disney hotel. I have twice, and it was so nice to be close to the room, and have transportation at the front door. I'm sure the busses are wheel chair accessible, but customer service could answer any questions.
The Beach %26amp; Yacht Club... DEFINITELY! It is right in the middle of it all! A great feature is taking the 'friendship' boats to MGM, Epcot, and the Boardwalk. You can get back to the hotel fast when you need to. You really dont ever need to use a bus or a car.

The Beach %26amp; Yacht Club are usually booked but if you plan far in advance.. you can have a great room! I suggest calling DisneyWorld at least 3 months before your trip.

Have a blast in Disney World!
You can get to any park from any disney property by very regular buses that have good disabled access. I would pick a hotel you like rather than a hotel in the right place.
There are 4 parks. To stay close to Magic Kingdom choose any resort that has its own monorail access. To stay close to Epcot or MGM stay at the Boardwalk, Beach Club, or Swan. To stay close to the Animal Kingdom stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (I personally like this one due to being able to see the animals from your room balconey. Keep in mind that all hotels have handicap bus access. Also deluxe hotels are always closer to the parks and the value hotels are more remote.
