Looking for beach resort hotel near San Diego?

Hi,





I'm looking for a good beach resort hotel north of San Diego. I would like the hotel to either have direct access to the beach or be close enough to a state beach (walking distance).


I would also like to know if Del-Mar, La Jolla or Carlsbad have any good beaches.


I'm talking about beaches for children, to play in the sand, fly a kite, etc...

Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa, Bay Club Hotel %26amp; Marina, and Bahia Resort Hotel are all really nice destinations for the family. La Jolla is great. Check out the La Valencia Resort. La Jolla shores is near by and that's great for kids.





Carlsbad isn't such a great choice unless you are a Marine looking for a one night stand.





If I were looking for somewhere near Del-Mar I would check out La Costa. It's not on the beach but it is close.





You can't go wrong by staying at the Hotel Del on North Island (Coronado) but it's not north of San Diego but it's a great place for the family.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
In La Jolla there is a nice Hotel/Resort right on the beach. I don't know the name, but it is a kid-friendly beach. Not LaJolla Cove, but the big city beach just up from there about a mile. I think it is called the LaJolla Beach and Tennis Club.
I have stayed at the Best Western Blue Sea Lodge and it is a wonderful place, and great for a budget.
