Which Disneyland resort hotel is the best buy?

I know that the Grand Californian is the most money, and Paradise Peir is least expensive, with the Disneyland Hotel falling in the middle. But if you have stayed at more than one, is it worth paying more money for the others? We are only going to be there 2 nights, but I am not sure how to go about selecting a hotel. We have stayed at the budget hotels before, which I enjoy, but this is a special trip for my daughters b-day. If you can comment on the use of the monorail to get into the park vs walking and the distance of the monorail from the parks, that would be very helpful. Thanks so much.Which Disneyland resort hotel is the best buy?
definitely not for gran california. I am assuming she is young, so California Adventure is not the park you will spend majority of time in, and nor is the city walk thingy. Its a lovely hotel, theres a character storybook dining place that is one of the best in all of disney (I know people who work the rides by name at land and world) but it ain't worth the money with a little kid. Paradise is cheap, nothing super special, and you need to WALK a lot to get to park.

Disneyland is well designed for kids, and easiest to get to disneyland magic kingdom, and thus the best for you.Which Disneyland resort hotel is the best buy?
Because Disneyland isn't segregated from everything by a ';world';, like Walt Disney World is, you'll find a handful of non-disney hotels within walking distance to the parks that are cheaper than the disney ones.

With WDW, it's harder to find close by hotels that are cheap, plus transportation is always a problem, so staying at a Disney hotel in that situation is good.
