What is the best way to get to Universal Studies from a Disney World Resort hotel?

If your meaning cost wise take Disney transportation to the Doubletree Guest Resort on Hotel Plaza Blvd. then take a yellow cab. Fare should run about $20 one way. Depending on which resort you are staying at a taxi could cost you almost twice as much do to the distance. Check this website and use the fare estimator feature, and when you compare it to the Disney transportation route map you'll see that the closest point to Universal is the Doubletree. Be sure and tell the taxi driver to take the Turkey Lake route to Universal instead of I-4.

rent a car or see if theres a bus that goes there which i highly doubtWhat is the best way to get to Universal Studies from a Disney World Resort hotel?
use the shuttle buses than run from disney to all the other attractions, if you have a flexi ticket this is included in the price, if not you will have to pay seperatly, its not expensive though.
Take I4 east, and exits for for Universal are 74A-75B.

I usually go to 75B (Left exit- Kirkman) and stay in the left lane- it's your first left. There's a small Universal sign, and that will take you to Valet or Self Parking for City Walk, and both Universal Parks. From a Disney hotel it'll be about a 20minute drive depending on traffic, possibly 30 minutes.
Interstate 4. Go east and follow the signs. The exit is well marked.
If I could afford it, I would rent a car simply to avoid confusion over having to call/arrange for a cab or shuttle to meet me at a certain place and certain time. The car gives you a lot more freedom. If you can't afford to rent a car, I would make arrangements with Mears' shuttles. They are a little bit cheaper than a cab. I have used them before and had no trouble with them except that their timing is not as exact as I would like (which is why I would rent).
