What is the best beach resort hotel in KK ?

Going to KK with my family to visit a Malay friend - my kids are 13 and 15 and I'd like to stay at a beach resort - going at the end of March. What is the best beach resort hotel in KK ?
Nexus Karambunai Resort will make you feel like heaven. The beach are wonderful. But it's quite far for the city. Not too far, but still far. If you want a beach resort hotel near the city, Sutera Harbour is the place. But I hate the view. Too much boat and ship! What is the best beach resort hotel in KK ?
Nexus Karambunai Resort. Heaven place on earth. I went there in June last year. 30 kilometres from KK city. you can check out with local travel agency for the accommodation + air package. Enjoy your trip!
I stayed at Beringgis Beach Resort which was quite nice
My personal choice is Sutera Harbour.

The hotel itself is safe and beautiful. Be careful of the folks outside as there is quite a large illegal immigration problem in the town and also quite a fair bit of casual crime.
Agree with Phxer. Sutera Harbour is the best but it's pretty expensive though since it is a 6 star hotel(if I'm not mistaken). Check out their website at :

www.suteraharbour.com

The alternative will be Shangrila Tanjung Aru Beach Hotel which is still in KK. It's been around longer than Sutera Harbour. In term of size, it's smaller than Sutera Harbour but it is located within the states popular beach i.e. Tanjung Aru beach. You'll get to mingle more with the locals there since it is a popular place for the local folks to bring their family for an evening outing. There is a bar and grill about 15 minutes walks away from the hotel which has a 3 piece band playing outdoor(well at least there were there about 3 months ago since I last visited). The sunset is a view to die for.

If you want a more secluded place to go, try Nexus Karambunai Beach resort. However, it is about 1 hour drive away from KK. Nice beach. Horse riding etc..

Ask your friend to bring you to Kampung Nelayan in KK for seafood. You wouldn't want to miss that. It's like a floating seafood restaurant. Very big and they have performances.
